Making the move…
With less than two weeks before I make the big move over to Spain, I find myself enjoying the many things BC, mainly Langley, has to offer. Things I know are very hard, if not impossible to enjoy in Europe. Sushi. I love Sushi, and if you’ve been to Europe, the amazing Japanese staple is a jem to find. When you do, its usually canned imitation crab, and semi stale rice, rolled in a slightly discoloured seaweed, all for the low price of 4 Euros a piece. Kettle Corn, new English playing movies, and peanut butter are some other simple pleasures I am enjoying these days. Peanut butter is gold over there, and Christian has actually persuaded me to cary a couple jars across the world, for his very routine peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Being a girl, packing your whole wardrobe, hair straighteners and shoes into two, under 35 kilo check in bags has been a bit of a challenge. Packing and repacking to fit all of my stuff has been quite the treat. Fitting the PlayStation 3 (another small tidbit he wishes I bring along) takes up the most room, but he insists it will be an “investment” when we’re over there. hahaha. I’m hoping to find some new things to fill that will help fill the “homesick void” in Girona. They may not have kettle corn, but the fresh little bakeries, and open fruit markets do peak my interest. Until then, I’ll gladly take the rainy BC weather in exchange for a perfect California roll.

We’ll bring you lots of peanut butter when we come to visit:) Kettlecorn too if it is transportable. I don’t even know what it is. You might find years down the road when you have to move back to Canada that you prefer Europe:)
WHOA! Whose foxy figure does that belong to?
Kettlecorn is the best, I sympathize, but it is easy to make, just add sugar to the oil in the pot and make sure you stir/shake it well.
Hey there,
I am coming to Spain this summer to fufill my dream of seeing Le Tour in action. Where can I find out about the local rides in Girona?
Is there a shop or cafe the locals frequent?
Later,
DaveO
Give us a shout when the time comes closer and we will be sure to get you lined up..
