off to another
Just finished a solid week of rest and relaxation long hours and some really good rides. Coming back from Catalunya, I have felt really good, taking naps during the day and keeping the legs feeling fresh. It’s amazing how a fast 20 minute nap can give me the motivation to go for a walk during the evening, or go down to the Rambla for a gelato. Been having great salads and dins, (I’m still on the 6:00-6:30 west coast eating schedule) and am brewing some good homemade teas which help with the sleep and relaxation. I am now going off to France to put another race under the belt, hopefully the weather will be as nice as it’s been here the last couple weeks.
I got tested by the UCI yesterday, we have grown very fond of my usual testers (Enrique and Radmila) offering them coffee and such when they come over. Really makes the whole needle jabbing process a lot more enjoyable when you have people who enjoy their job, and make conversation. They should be testing at the race in France, so it will be fun to catch up with them again.

Yo Christian, good luck at the Dauphine. Not sure if Svein is racing there, the Garmin roster has him there but the Cyclingnews.com roster does not have him. If he is kitting up then good luck to him as well. I won’t miss you guys too much tomorrow at Westside, but I am sure someone else can put the hurt on me maybe just not quite as bad as last year.
Big article in today’s (Saturday, June 6) Vancouver Sun on Svein. He’s on the cover of the front section where he is called a “lone wolf”, then on the cover of the sports section he is called “renegade”, and then the byline of the story calls him “anti-establishment”!! Not sure but I think I like RENEGADE the best.
