Nationals Time Trial..

Was a pretty exciting day yesterday, as Svein, myself, and former Symmetrics team mate Zack, made the podium with first, second and third. It was the first decent result in a TT I have had in a few years, I was really nervous before the race, I guess part of me knew I could get a good result if everything came together on the day. Since the Dauphine I was getting out on the TT bike nearly everyday, working on a new position after having some serious issues with the previous set up, nice to see paying off. I would say I am pretty happy with the outcome despite a couple little issues with my gears and cars on the course. Svein once again won the title an was on a tear out on the hilly course, nearly catching his 2 minute man and last year’s runner up Ryan Roth. We really lucked out with the weather as it rained for the earlier races but the cleared up nicely and the sun came out and the temp really went up before turning back to rain for rest of the evening.

We had a nice Symtrex reunion dinner after the race with the whole team back together, save Randers and Wholberg, and were able to catch up. We reminisced about the old days, chatted about new teams and Jake continued to make fun of my high TT bar “triathlon” position, haha. Tomorrow we have the road race and with the new flatter course it is going to take some luck and patience to make something happen, hopefully we can get away from the sprinters ahead of the line.
