Riding and coffee..

As a solid two weeks of training I am looking forward to relaxing the next couple days and making the final preps before my fisrt race of the secong half of the season, Tour of Poland. Training in the last while has been lots of long rides, which is the best way to get a bit farther away from from home to check out some new roads and new climbs that included an overnight trip to Puigcerda as well as a trip up Valter 2000. I will post some of the route details from my Garmin soon. Another past time lately has been coffee, this has always been a passion of mine and our new room mate Ted King’s but lately we have been fortunate enough to have some great coffees come our way from back in the US. Here in europe coffee is a good, simple espresso based drinks that come in one size and at a reasonable price, no twenty syllable sugar flavor coffees here. Though the average coffee here would rank well above the average north american coffee there we are still lacking a bit of the real passionate coffee roasters (I do have to say though that Illy is one of my favorites) that scattered through out north america and the coffee culture that runs deep in the northwest. I remember going to the Stumptown coffee shop in Portland last year and being blown away, not only by the capucinno, which was the best i have ever had, but also by the enormous roaster standing tall and proud in the middle of the shop. I went there non stop for three days tasting their different and superb coffees and now thanks to a great fan from back home we are anxiously awaiting a couple bags of coffee gold to arrive for us, can’t wait and greatly appreciated. Let the coffee adventures continue, wonder how the coffee is in Poland.
